- BEŇUŠKOVÁ, Zuzana: Občianske obrady na Slovensku. Bratislava: Veda, 2017. 136 s. Etnologické štúdie, 31. ISBN 978-80-224-1623-8.
The core of the publication consists of three chapters, the aim of which is to provide the reader with an overview of the contexts of the development of institutional church and secular ceremonies in Europe and Slovakia until the middle of the 20th century, the emergence and functioning of civil ceremonies in the period 1948-1989, as well as the temporary post-coup retreat and the renewal of ceremonies and social events, which form part of the entire complex of activities related to civil ceremonies. Ceremonies connected with birth, marriage and death form the main outline of the chapters of the publication. Since it is an ethnological perspective, the focus is on the retrospective analysis of the formation of institutional ceremonies, as well as their reflection and acceptance by the inhabitants.
