Our Emeritus Colleague Dr. Mojmír Benža on the Záhorie Wall of Fame

Since 2015, the town of Senica in the Záhorie region has annually honored notable figures from the area by installing cogwheels with their names on the wall of the House of Culture. Each year, this tradition commemorates individuals who have made their mark through artistic, athletic, or scientific work.
This year, on May 1st, 2025, the honor was bestowed upon our emeritus colleague and native of Senica, Dr. Mojmír Benža. As part of a project originally initiated by the satirical “Záhorácká Self-Sufficient DIY Republic” in cooperation with the town of Senica, the name of a Slovak ethnologist has now been added to those of well-known Záhorie natives such as Ivan Horváth, Mária Kráľovičová, Jana Kocianová, and Žigmund Pálffy.
We warmly congratulate our colleague on this recognition and wish him good health and continued success!
