DARIAH Day Slovakia 2025: Strengthening the National Digital Humanities Community
The DARIAH-SK National Consortium successfully organized the biennial scientific event, DARIAH Day Slovakia 2025. The meeting was held on November 19, 2025, under the auspices of the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the SAS, the consortium’s coordinating institution.
Andrej Gogora, a researcher at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the SAS and the National Coordinator of DARIAH-SK, opened the event by outlining the strategic goals and roadmap for this national platform for the upcoming period. The program continued with presentations from member institutions:
- Representatives of the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the SAS (M. Zumrík, J. Levická) presented the expansion project of the Literary Author Corpus, which is being developed within the Slovak National Corpus department.
- J. Podroužek from the Kempelen Institute of Intelligent Technologies (KInIT) introduced a project for a repository of tools aimed at the application of Trustworthy AI principles in practice.
- K. Vass (Off grid lab, o.z.) demonstrated the open-source tool Collection Toolbox, which integrates technologies for the management and online presentation of collections held by academic and cultural institutions.
- P. Bednár from the Institute of Archaeology of the SAS presented the depository of archaeological finds and the plan to make selected parts accessible via a new web portal.
- M. Harvát from the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI) concluded the session by presenting the strategy for the popularization of the DARIAH-SK consortium’s activities and outputs.
The DARIAH Day Slovakia 2025 event represents a key milestone in strengthening the national community in the field of research infrastructures and Digital Humanities in Slovakia.
