Issue 2/2027 of Slovenský národopis/Slovak Ethnology is seeking contributions dealing with innovative participatory methods that engage older adults as equal collaborators in research, policy-making and practice. Case studies, methodological insights and theoretical reflections showing how participatory practices can rewrite conventional power dynamics are all welcome.
Issue 2/2027, entitled “Participatory Approaches in Ethnology, Anthropology: Methods, Ethics and Power Relations”, is dedicated to participatory approaches with older adults in ethnology, social and cultural anthropology, medical anthropology, geography, sociology, and the fields of cultural heritage and museum studies.
The guest editors are Heidi Kaspar (Bern University of Applied Sciences), Sandra Staudacher (FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland) and Ľubica Voľanská (Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology, Slovak Academy of Sciences).
Contributions may take the form of original research articles, theoretical or methodological essays, reflexive case studies, discussion papers or review essays, and should be submitted in English.
