Mojmír Benža and Peter Salner among the Distinguished Personalities of the Slovak Academy of Sciences 2026
Among the Distinguished Personalities of the Slovak Academy of Sciences honoured in 2026 were our esteemed colleagues PhDr. Mojmír Benža, PhD, and PhDr. Peter Salner, DrSc., from the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
The ceremonial seminar, Distinguished Personalities of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, took place on 16 September 2026 in the Dionýz Blaškovič Lecture Hall at the Institute of Virology, Biomedical Research Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, in Bratislava. Letters of recognition were presented to the honourees by Martin Venhart, President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
Mojmír Benža’s recognition was accepted on his behalf by his son, Matúš Benža. Also present at the event were our colleagues Zuzana Panczová, Vice-President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences for International Relations, and Monika Vrzgulová, Director of the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology, who personally congratulated our honoured colleagues.
The title of Distinguished Personality of the Slovak Academy of Sciences recognises scholars whose long-standing academic and professional work has made a significant contribution both to the development of their respective disciplines and to the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
