Emeritus Colleague of Our Institute, Prof. Rastislava Stoličná, Awarded the SAS Medal for the Support of Science

On April 14, 2025, on a ceremonial occasion in the presence of the President of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS), Prof. Pavol Šajgalík, the SAS Medal for the Support of Science was awarded to our emeritus colleague, Prof. Rastislava Stoličná.
This award was approved by the Scientific Council of the SAS and, according to the rules of SAS awards, it is granted “for outstanding achievements in the fields of science and culture that have contributed to enhancing the scientific reputation of the SAS, for the development of science policy and humanistic values, for direct and indirect support of science and culture in Slovakia in general, and the SAS in particular.”
On this occasion, the Vice President of the SAS for the 3rd Section of Sciences, Dr. M. Morovics, noted in his laudation that during her 44-year scientific and research career at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the SAS (formerly the Institute of Ethnology of the SAS and the Ethnographic Institute of the SAS), Prof. Stoličná was actively involved in ethnological projects that were of fundamental importance to Slovak ethnology. Through her long-term research in the field of culinary culture in Slovakia and Europe, Rastislava Stoličná is recognized as a respected expert not only nationally but also internationally.
