Ľubica Voľanská is co-organizing a side event at the 10th UNESCO General Assembly in Paris.
The event “Intangible Cultural Heritage in Education” will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. It will focus on educational strategies, curriculum proposals, teaching methods, game applications, digital technologies, and online tools for transferring knowledge related to ICH in schools.
The transmission of ICH-related knowledge usually occurs in non-formal educational settings, supported by the non-profit sector or within families and communities outside the official school curricula. Therefore, the workshop focuses on strategies, approaches, and projects from the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, and Slovakia, highlighting insights into methods used to support the transmission of ICH-related knowledge within formal educational settings.
The seminar has been organized by Jana Ambrózová (delegated NSS member for communication with UNESCO) in collaboration with Ľubica Voľanská (Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences; NSS member), Ambassador Anna Plassat Muríňová (Permanent Delegation of the Slovak Republic to UNESCO), and Katarína Lomnická (Permanent Delegation of the Slovak Republic to UNESCO).
It is the result of a collaboration between the Permanent Delegation of the Slovak Republic to UNESCO, the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, and the Ethnographic Society of Slovakia. Contributions from colleagues from the Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, and Slovakia will be presented.
