- She profiles herself as a music anthropologist. Her professional interests include minority music traditions with a particular focus on the Roma, the music and dance revival movement, intangible cultural heritage, and theoretical-methodological issues in the analysis of traditional instrumental music. She leads the APVV project “UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Elements: Instrumentalisation and Cultural Representations in the Context of Tourism and Regional Development in Slovakia (2024–2028),” which examines processes of representation, interpretation, and use of heritage in contemporary cultural and social life. Internationally, she serves as Vice-Chairwoman of the ICTMD Study Group on Music and Dance of the Slavic World and is an active member of several academic societies, including the European Seminar in Ethnomusicology. She also represents Slovakia’s Ethnographic Society in UNESCO-related activities. As a violinist and vocal coach, she specialises in traditional playing styles and multipart singing. She is also the founder of the Tradana Civic Association, where she led extensive research on traditional string and cimbalom ensembles. As part of this initiative, she produced several CD recordings in close cooperation with Romani string ensembles from Šumiac, Bardejov, and Zborov.
