Laura Kovácsová completed her Master's degree in Social Anthropology at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University. During her field research in exposed areas of Bratislava, she focused on the life experiences of homeless women who inject drugs. Her thesis research highlighted the context of institutional oppression based on the multiple marginalized identities of these women, as an example of double stigmatization and intersectionality. Currently, as a PhD candidate at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, she continues to pursue her interest in studying housing and homelessness among vulnerable populations. She also works in public administration, focusing on the development of affordable housing.
