- Petr Nuska is a visual ethnomusicologist – an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersections of anthropology, visual studies and music studies. He completed a PhD in Ethnomusicology and Visual Culture at Durham University (2022) concerning the musicianship of Roma in Slovakia. At the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology – Slovak Academy of Sciences, he is now part-time implementing his Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship on the phenomenon of Romani chords. He is a passionate ethnographic and documentary (and sometimes experimental) filmmaker whose work has been screened at festivals around the world. Petr is passionate about looking at music from less explored angles. When he’s not researching music, he likes to make music.
