Aims of the books are: to identify and describe traditional clothing articles of Záhorie´ citizens; to clarify the individual articles of clothing used for various occasions; to define individual types and local forms of traditional clothing at Záhorie; to explain the changes in traditional clothing during the first half of the 20th century. For the territorial comparison the zoning on northern and southern Záhorie is important. Data used during processing the book come from the researches of employees of Institute of Ethnology (Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava) and The Centre for Folk Art Production in Bratislava (ÚĽUV) and from the study of the collections in Záhorské museum in Skalica, from the Slovak National Museum – Museum of Ethnography in Martin, from the Museum of Fol Art Production in Stupava (part of ÚĽUV). Ethnology scientific works, published texts of regional homeland researchers and municipal chronicles were the sources of data too. Data were processed by cartographic method and achieved maps were helpful during conceiving the text of the book. The book contians information abou traditional clothing articles, types of traditional clothing, local forms of traditional clothing and about changes in traditional clothing in 20th century.
