The Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities
Our colleague, Tomáš Hrustič, has been appointed by the Committee of Ministers of Council of Europe as the member of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities for a four-year term commencing on 1 June 2022.
The Framework Convention is the first legally binding multilateral instrument devoted to the protection of national minorities, now in force in 39 states of Council of Europe. Its implementation is monitored by the only international committee dedicated exclusively to minority rights: the Advisory Committee. Tomáš Hrustič serves his second and last term in the Advisory Committee starting this year until June 2026. This year, Tomáš Hrustič participated at two monitoring visits to Netherlands and Moldova, and joined the plenary meeting of the Advisory committee in Strasbourg in October 3 to 7, 2022.
