Our Emeritus Researcher Mojmír Benža Celebrated His 85th Birthday
On April 25, 2026, our emeritus researcher PhDr. Mojmír Benža, PhD. celebrated his semi-round life anniversary. He worked at our institute from 1980 to 2012 and was one of the leading figures in ethnology, especially in the field of material culture — traditional architecture and folk clothing. He also focused on issues of ethnicity (particularly Slovaks abroad) and religiosity.
In recent years, he has been actively engaged in research on the Záhorie region, where he has authored several thematic monographs (traditional cuisine and traditional clothing). In 2025, his name was added to the Záhorie Wall of Fame in Senica, the town where he was born.
We wish him many more years filled not only with health and contentment but also with continued inspiration for his tireless work!
