The ambition of the project is to create a shared platform that, based on interdisciplinary research, will provide Slovak creators, producers and entrepreneurs with information and tools for applying elements of regional “material” identity to products and services. We perceive the regional material and construction culture as a diversification element with the potential to improve business competitiveness. Based on the analysis of the current state of local production and its previous development in the field of designing products and architectural works in Slovakia, we want to point out the possibilities of effective use of theoretical knowledge in business and production practice, provide strategies for the development of business, ecotourism and employment in the regions thanks to innovative products and services integrating unique elements of regional culture. The main output of the project will be an interactive database and pavilion of elements and patterns of local identity in the material culture of Slovak regions and examples of their application in the creation of products and environments (design, prototyping, testing). The information platform will not only be a source of information, but will also provide a common methodology, strategies and practical tools for applying the acquired knowledge in creation and production for entrepreneurs from various fields. The aim of the proposed activities in the field of cultural heritage is also to ensure the continuity of traditional elements of Slovak folk craft and art. The current interpretation of the link is aimed mainly at the younger generation, which is of decisive importance in the process of forming the future regional identity.
