The publication focuses on two aspects of waste management issues within the context of environmental justice for Roma settlements and their inhabitants.
The first concerns the environmental burdens caused by landfills of municipal or other types of waste in the vicinity of human dwellings. The second aspect relates to the municipal waste produced by the inhabitants of Roma settlements themselves and the management of this waste by municipalities and towns. The publication seeks to analyse these aspects of waste management through the lens of several theoretical perspectives, while also mapping various approaches at the local level. It is divided into five chapters, whose authors are researchers and experts in the fields of law, sociology, economics, and public administration.
