“In the book Cafés and wineries of Bratislava, Peter Salner focuses on one of the distinguished phenomena of social life of our capital. In between the world wars, along with the unforgetable bohemians, society of cafés was co-created by the rapidly slovakized and quite strong urban middle class. However, the Czech administrative workers were also numerous. After the proclamation of the first Czechoslovakia, they have brought a whimsical atmosphere of Prague cafés and wineries to Bratislava. Their meeting and blending into the tradition of cafés and wineries in old Prešporok created an inimitable atmosphere, soaked with the spirit of national and language tolerance.” (Anton Baláž)
